Orientation for the Class of 2030

Beginning with the Class of 2030, MSUCOM is introducing a new online formal orientation course during Summer 2026.

OST 501 – Introduction to Medical School (Online)

OST 501 is a required online course designed to prepare you for a successful start to medical school.

  • The course will take place before the official start of the curriculum, and all requirements must be completed by July 13, 2026 – the first day of official classes.
  • It will introduce key academic, professional and logistical information you need before classes begin.
  • Additional details about course access, expectations and deadlines will be shared as soon as they are finalized.
  • This course is enrolled and graded.

 

In Person Orientation

The final week of OST 501 leads into your in-person Orientation experience.

Schedule Overview

Tuesday, July 7, 2026:

  • All students will attend Orientation in person at the MSU East Lansing campus with the entire Class of 2030.

Wednesday & Thursday, July 8–9, 2026:

  • Orientation continues at your assigned MSUCOM campus site (East Lansing, Detroit, or Macomb).

More detailed schedules and instructions will be provided as they become available.

 

Planning Ahead

Students who plan to relocate for medical school are strongly encouraged to complete their move before July 7, 2026.
