Hooding and Commencement Ceremony

5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Ceremony Livestream – The stream will be live on the day of the ceremony. This ceremony will also be recorded to watch approximately one to two weeks after, at this same site.

No charge for parking in Ramp #7, Lots #63 and #126

Bags and purses are prohibited at the Breslin Center. Diaper bags permitted but MSU Police will search the bag. For other special items; keys, medicine, etc., place in a clear zip-lock bag for MSU Police to check. All gates will have metal detectors and police presence.

No tickets or R.S.V.P. required – all may attend
All entrances open at 3:30 p.m.

Flowers will be available for purchase on the Concourse. MSU Concessions will be open for purchase of snacks.

Physically disabled seating is first-come, first-served. One person may accompany that individual in the “Platform Seating Areas”. See Breslin Guest Services for assistance, located by the Gilbert Pavilion (south entrance) - near Parking Lot #126. There is a Personal Health Room across from Section 135.


Hooding and Commencement Ceremony Policies

Individuals participating in the hooding of graduates during the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Hooding and Commencement Ceremony (Spring Semester), must possess a terminal (doctoral) degree which can include, D.O., M.D., D.D.S., D.V.M., J.D., D.P.M., O.D., Pharm.D., Ph.D., etc.  Hooders may include: parent, spouse, fiancé, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, in-law.   A maximum of two family members can hood a graduate.  If the graduate does not have an individual that matches the criteria listed previously, alternatively one full-time/paid COM Faculty, alumni, clinical faculty or mentor (with a terminal degree) can be asked or assigned to participate.
