The information on this page will help to prepare you for your orientation program and for the start of your first semester at MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Device Specifications for Students
For exams and other assessments, students will need to bring their own computer.
Please make sure your computer meets Examplify’s minimum system requirements (Please note, MSUCOM does not allow the use of iPads for taking exams).
The following can NOT be used for exams:
- iPad
- Chromebook
- Windows versions prior to 10
- Alternate versions of Windows (e.g. RT or S versions)
- Windows devices with an ARM processor
In addition to these minimum requirements, we recommend having a webcam and microphone-enabled device for web-based sessions. Please refer to the student handbook for more details on use of webcams and student privacy.
All other software used in MSUCOM Preclerkship curriculum can be run on either Windows or macOS devices.
Internet Requirements
Many MSUCOM events require an internet connection. An internet speed of at least 15 Mbps is recommended. Wi-Fi is available at all MSUCOM preclerkship campuses – see MSU’s Getting Online resource for how to register your device on the MSUNet 3.0 network.
