Our Impact

The Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) profession has positively impacted medical care for people across the state, the nation and internationally, with more than 25% of all medical students in the U.S. now graduating from an Osteopathic Medical school.

MSUCOM has been at the forefront of addressing state-wide physician deficiencies since it was established in 1969 by legislative decree and continues its commitment to providing D.O. primary health care providers to the state of Michigan. About 73% of actively practicing MSUCOM graduates since 1985 are practicing in-state, helping to meet the primary care health needs of Michigan residents.
