Top Priorities
Support the Infrastructure and Facilities Improvement Fund
The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine is a leader in medical education, research and service, and its facilities should reflect this leadership and commitment to the future. Maintaining and creating state-of-the-art facilities will prepare the college, its students, educators, researchers and clinicians for continued success. Supporting infrastructure and facilities improvements is a critical foundation needed to attract top-tier students and educators. It also provides enhancements that lead to adaptable and interdisciplinary learning environments.
Your support will help the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine maintain its edge in teaching, research and outreach well into the future.
Support Student Endowed Scholarship
Medical students must be able to choose their life’s work based on their talents, interests and passion to serve, not based on how much debt they may accrue. We need osteopathic physicians who represent the diverse and vibrant communities we live in. Our future physicians must be able to see themselves serving in all communities from remote rural corners of the Upper Peninsula to metropolitan Detroit.
Endowed scholarships support these students. Endowment gives us the ability to attract and retain a diverse, talented and committed study body who will face the challenges of modern medicine and enter the profession without being overwhelmingly burdened by debt. Your support will enable us to meet this challenge.
You may wish to establish your own named endowment and assist in developing the criteria, or contribute along with other committed individuals in growing the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Endowed Scholarship AS00025. This university initiated endowment will provide general support, and all MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine students in good standing are eligible.
Support Student Research Opportunities
The college has always valued the research and scholarly activities of our students, as evidenced by our DO-PhD training program. We now seek to expand these research experiences to a greater number of our students. By doing so, we will not only improve their competitiveness for the residencies and fellowships they may eventually aspire to join, but also cultivate the natural tendencies of these bright minds to bring new insights and perspectives to bear on the challenges in medicine. We will expand our ongoing research efforts to position our students to create new medical knowledge and improve the lives of all we serve as a profession.
You may wish to establish your own named endowment supporting and area of research you are passionate about, or contribute along with other committed individuals in growing the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Student Research Endowment AS00023. This university initiated endowment will provide general support for all student research opportunities.
Support Student Outreach and Service Activities
What our students learn in the class room is only one aspect of being a competent and compassionate physician. It is through outreach and service programs like the College of Osteopathic Medicine Global Outreach Program, Detroit Street Care and Spartan Street Medicine that many of our student develop the skills to be a truly outstanding caregiver. These programs and activities enable our students to interact with diverse populations, engage in a practical learning environment, and bridge concepts presented during the pre-clerkship curriculum with real-world clinical exposure. The experiences expand their training by developing skills fundamental to the physician-patient interaction, while providing care for those most in need.
You may wish to establish your own named endowment supporting the area of outreach and service you are passionate about, or contribute along with other committed individuals in growing the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Student Outreach and Service Endowment AS00024. This university initiated endowment will provide general support for all student outreach and service activities.
