Associate professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Alissa is the Administrative Assistant for the Wellness & Counseling office, and an advisor to Peer Mentors. She has worked at MSUCOM since 2010. Alissa enjoys working with students, and helping them schedule appointments for anything from counseling and peer mentoring, to meditation and mindfulness. In addition to her role at MSUCOM, Alissa enjoys summer, reading, writing, and spending time with her son.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Bielawski is a lifelong resident of Macomb County and a graduate of Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic medicine. His Internal Medicine training at William Beaumont Hospital was completed in 2002 and he practiced in Rochester Hills until 2023. His personal goal in teaching at MSU-COM is to prepare 1st and 2nd year students to shine in clerkship and prepare them for a successful career in the lifelong practice of Osteopathic Medicine.

David Boes, DO, FACOOG is an Associate Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties and a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, with a medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and residency at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital. Dr. Boes has extensive experience in teaching and service, as a board member and the past president of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG).

Since joining MSUCOM in 2006, Dr. Boivin has become internationally recognized as one of the foremost scientists in the neurodevelopmental evaluation of African children. As a two-time Fulbright research fellow (DR Congo 1990-91; Uganda 2003-04), and a West African Research Association fellow (Senegal, 1997), he has pioneered research over the past 30 years in assessing the impact of interventions for HIV disease, cerebral malaria, konzo disease, intestinal parasite and anemia treatment, and ...
