René C. Hinojosa is Professor Emeritus in the College of Social Sciences, School of Planning Design and Construction, adjunct professor of the Department of Geography and the Institute for Global Health, Michigan State University. Previously he worked as a civil engineer and as a consultant to international development agencies in the area of regional development.

I specialize in developing Biomedical Animal Models used with Medical Imaging Modalities (CT, IVIS, MPI, MSOT, SPECT, PET/MRI). I am a member of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) – certification as a Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG); and the Academy of Surgical Research (ASR) – certification as a Surgical Research Technician (SRT). Outside of the Lab, I am the Chief Instructor for a local Japanese Martial Arts Aikido Dojo: Greater Lansing Aikido (GLA).

Crissy Hodges-Chakrani serves as assistant to the chairperson for the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. She supports faculty and coordinates appointments in all of the surgical specialties. Crissy is also the Clinical Faculty Coordinator for our volunteer faculty within the surgical specialties.

Dr. Furqan B. Irfan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology, and an affiliated faculty at the Institute of Global Health at Michigan State University (MSU). He is also the Director of Research Development for the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Stephanie Jalaba is an Assistant Professor and Principal Faculty in the Michigan State University PA Program. Stephanie recently relocated to Michigan, where she was born and raised, after spending several years in Arizona. Her clinical background is in hospital medicine. After graduating from Midwestern University’s PA Program, she then completed a post-graduate fellowship in Hospital Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona.
