René C. Hinojosa is Professor Emeritus in the College of Social Sciences, School of Planning Design and Construction, adjunct professor of the Department of Geography and the Global Health Institute, Michigan State University. Previously he worked as a civil engineer and as a consultant to international development agencies in the area of regional development.

I specialize in developing Biomedical Animal Models used with Medical Imaging Modalities (CT, IVIS, MPI, MSOT, SPECT, PET/MRI). I am a member of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) – certification as a Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG); and the Academy of Surgical Research (ASR) – certification as a Surgical Research Technician (SRT). Outside of the Lab, I am the Chief Instructor for a local Japanese Martial Arts Aikido Dojo: Greater Lansing Aikido (GLA).
