The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2026 will cross the stage for their hooding ceremony at commencement, Thursday, April 30, at the MSU Breslin Student Events Center, as the college celebrates its 263 osteopathic physicians who will begin the next steps of their journey.
These new physicians will head into residencies in 29 different specialties, as well as research positions. Of the class, 72% will complete their residency in Michigan and 39% will do residency in primary care. This year, the college also celebrates the graduation of the first two students to complete the 3+4 program — a pathway that streamlines the journey to becoming an osteopathic physician. Read about our students in the full story of the inaugural 3+4 graduates.
The Class of 2026 will have the opportunity to hear from one of MSUCOM’s own alums, Robert G.G. Piccinini, D.O., D. FACN, current American Osteopathic Association (AOA) president, Patenge Award recipient and Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists, as this year’s commencement keynote speaker.
MSUCOM Class 2026 President Evan Schumacher will also address his peers.
Commencement begins at 5 p.m. at the Breslin Center or via livestream at commencement.msu.edu.
