CGPI Training - Giving/Receiving Effective Feedback

When is the last time you had a candid and compassionate conversation with another faculty, staff member or student? If you engaged in conversation that exchanged information about issues that were important to either of you and walked away more connected and seeing pathways to new solutions, then you participated in a feedback-oriented conversation. However, when we use the word “feedback”, it can instill anxiety and fear, even though the process is meant to motivate, improve performance and encourage growth. In this session, we will explore the purpose and role of feedback in a learning environment, avenues for giving and receiving feedback and practices to strengthen the feedback loop.
