David Boes, DO, FACOOG is an Associate Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties and a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, with a medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and residency at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital. Dr. Boes has extensive experience in teaching and service, as a board member and the past president of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOOG).

Jacquelyn Charbel, DO, FACOS, FACS is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties in Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Craig Gudakunst, DO is Associate Chairperson of and Assistant Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. After earning his medical degree at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Gudakunst completed his residency in general surgery at Grandview Hospital and Medical Center in Dayton, OH. Shirley A. Harding, DO, FACOS is an Associate Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. She received her medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, after which she completed a urology residency at Detroit Osteopathic Hospital.

Clinical Assistant Professor

Crissy Hodges-Chakrani serves as assistant to the chairperson for the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. She supports faculty and coordinates appointments in all of the surgical specialties. Crissy is also the Clinical Faculty Coordinator for our volunteer faculty within the surgical specialties.

Assistant Professor, Osteopathic Surgical Specialties

Arya Khatiwoda, DO is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties and a urologic surgeon in MSU Urology.  After earning her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, she completed her residency in urological surgery at the Sparrow Hospital Urology Residency Program.

Dr. Mattison serves as Associate Dean, MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Detroit Medical Center.

Todd A. Moyerbrailean, D.O., FACOG is an Associate Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. He is a practicing urogynecologist with MSU Urology, board certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Moyerbrailean has served as the Lead Program Director for the Obstetrics & Gynecology Division of the MSU Statewide Campus System since 1997

Michael H. Mullins, DO is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties and a board-certified anesthesiologist.  After earning his medical degree at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Mullins completed his residency in anesthesiology at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, MI.

Dr. Obando serves as Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education and the Statewide Campus System. She received her Ph.D. in Medical Anthropology from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1995. Her area of interest is in medical education administration, e-learning, curriculum and faculty development, and research.

Shawn serves as the Department Course Assistant in Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. Prior to joining OSS, Shawn worked at MSU Sports Medicine for a total of 11 years as a surgery scheduler, rotation coordinator and front office assistant. She worked closely with student athletes, medical students and residents.

Colton Prudnick, D.O. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties and a urologic surgeon at MSU Urology. After earning his medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Prudnick completed his residency in urological surgery at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI.

Sandy joined MSU in 2003. She currently serves as the Business Administrator for COM Department of Orthopedics and COM Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. Prior to joining COM, Sandy served as a Clinic Manager for MSU Sports Medicine. Sandy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies.

W. Britt Zimmerman, D.O., DFACOS, FACS currently serves as Chairperson and Associate Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Surgical Specialties. He is also Director of Trauma and Reconstructive Urology at MSU Urology. In addition, Dr. Zimmerman serves on the Board of Governors of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
