On August 19, the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2026 will celebrate their Convocation and White Coat Ceremony.
The White Coat Ceremony marks a significant milestone at the start of a medical student’s career. The donning of the short white coat signifies the beginning of their journey to earn the long white coat, which they receive upon graduation as a physician. The ceremony symbolizes and is a recognition of the student's professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serve. It is a time to celebrate the students, their family and friends, and all those whose steadfast support helped make their achievements possible. The iconic ritual honors the importance of excellence in health care from the very first day of training through each day of medical practice.
The Convocation / White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2026 will be held Friday, August 19, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at the MSU Breslin Center on the East Lansing campus. Deanna Ingrassia Miano, D.O. ('21) will be our keynote speaker.
