Dr. Furqan B. Irfan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology and Ophthalmology, and an affiliated faculty at the Institute of Global Health at Michigan State University (MSU). He is also the Director of Research Development for the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Carolina Restini is an Associate Professor and Thread Director for Pharmacology in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) program at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology. Her main areas of expertise are medical pharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, hypertension, pharmacoepidemiology, and healthcare education.

I am an Associate Professor in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and in Pediatrics and Human Development. In the College of Osteopathic Medicine, I serve as the co-director of the DO/PhD program. The broad theme of my research is common complex diseases. The current objectives are to identify genetic factors that cause and contribute risk for orofacial clefting, and to measure and mitigate the impact of hearing loss using a community-based participatory approach in rural mid-Michigan.
