On February 18, Michigan State University held its 2025 Investiture for Endowed Faculty, celebrating educators and researchers whose work showcases the university's commitment to academic excellence and innovation. This year, Maksimilyan Chruszcz, Ph.D., was honored as a Walter F. Patenge Endowed Chair of Osteopathic Medicine for his biomedical research of allergens and cancer targets.
"I'm really happy, I really appreciate the honor of being endowed," Dr. Chruszcz said before taking a celebratory photo with Kevin Guskiewicz, Ph.D., president of MSU.

Speaking to attendees and honorees alike at the investiture, Guskiewicz spoke about the university as a place "where good ideas, big ideas and new ideas will always have a home and someone to help champion them, and where collaboration across disciplines isn't just a novel idea, it's the norm. It's expected here at Michigan State, and it leads to world-changing solutions for our greatest challenges."

Dr. Chruszcz is especially excited about his laboratory's allergy project and supporting the cancer research of other groups. "We have ways to find out how antibodies from humans interact with allergens. We also have several projects related to cancer where we are helping other groups to develop cancer-related drugs where we work on proteins that are targets for breast cancer and pancreatic cancer."
